90.1 Registration as professional technologist and scope of practice
registration as a professional technologist an individual who is
eligible in accordance with this Act and the professional
technologist regulations to engage in the practice of engineering or
geoscience within the scope of practice specified by the Joint Board
of Examiners.
(2) When the Joint Board of Examiners specifies the scope of
practice for a professional technologist, it must specify a scope of
practice that is the routine application of industry recognized codes,
standards, procedures and practices using established engineering
or applied science principles and methods of problem solving.
(3) For the purposes of subsection (2), the Joint Board of
Examiners may
(a) define or describe "routine application";
(b) define or describe "industry recognized";
(c) specify or describe the codes, standards, procedures and
practices applicable;
(d) define or describe all or any of the following terms:
"engineering or applied science principles" and "methods of
problem solving".
