169 Division 6 Pecuniary Interest and Conflict of Interest of Councillors Definitions
(a) "corporation", "director", "distributing corporation",
"officer", "shareholder", "voting rights" and "voting shares"
have the meanings given to them in the Business
Corporations Act;
(b) "councillor's family" means the councillor's spouse or adult
interdependent partner, the councillor's children, the parents
of the councillor and the parents of the councillor's spouse
or adult interdependent partner;
(b.1) "private interest" does not include the following:
(i) an interest in a matter that
(A) is of general application,
(B) affects a councillor as one of a broad class of the
public, or
(C) concerns the remuneration and benefits of a
councillor;
(ii) an interest that is trivial;
(c) "spouse" means the spouse of a married person but does not
include a spouse who is living separate and apart from the
person if the person and spouse have separated pursuant to a
written separation agreement or if their support obligations
and family property have been dealt with by a court order.
