154 Exemptions

(1) Sections 156 and 157 do not apply to a private company or
to a public company that has fewer than 15 shareholders, 2 or more
persons who are the joint registered owners of one or more shares
being counted as one shareholder.
(1.1) Sections 156, 157 and 159 do not apply to the management
of a company, a solicitation or a vote, respectively, where the
company concerned is a reporting issuer as defined in the
Securities Act.
(2) On the application of any interested person, a judge of the
Court designated by the Chief Justice of the Court may, if satisfied
that in the circumstances of the particular case there is adequate
justification for so doing, make an order, on any terms and
conditions that seem to the judge just and expedient, exempting, in
whole or in part, any person from the requirements of section 156
or from the requirements of section 157(1).
(3) Repealed 2020 c25 s2(69).
(4) An appeal lies to the Court of Appeal from an order made
under subsection (2).
