20 Change of name
the cooperative's name contravenes this Act or the regulations
when the cooperative comes into existence or is continued.
(2) If a cooperative does not comply with a Registrar's direction to
change its name within 60 days after it is served with a written
copy of the direction, the Registrar may issue a certificate of
amendment revoking the name of the cooperative and assigning a
new name to it.
(3) The articles of a cooperative are deemed to be amended on the
date shown in the certificate of amendment.
(4) Repealed 2022 c16 s3(10).
(5) If a cooperative acquires a name as a result of a person
undertaking to dissolve or to change names and the undertaking is
not honoured, the Registrar may direct the cooperative to change its
name in accordance with section 264(1)(a) unless the undertaking
is honoured within the period specified in subsection (2).
