9.12 Oath of office

(1) Every judge, before taking office as Chief Justice, Deputy
Chief Justice, Assistant Chief Justice, judge or supernumerary
judge, shall take and subscribe before the Chief Justice of Alberta,
the Chief Justice of the Court of King's Bench of Alberta or the
Chief Justice, the Deputy Chief Justice or an Assistant Chief
Justice of the Court of Justice the oath of allegiance and the judicial
oath prescribed by the Oaths of Office Act.
(2) The oath of allegiance and the judicial oath are to be
transmitted forthwith by the judge to the Minister of Justice or a
person designated by that Minister.
